The role of the Committee is to:
Identify and recommend advocacy and policy positions and strategy on behalf of ASID
Develop an effective strategy to communicate ASID’s perspective on advocacy and policy matters
Inform discussion on policy and advocacy priorities in an open and transparent way
Focus on furthering ASID’s strategic goals of increasing visibility and influence such as advocating for sound and evidence-based policy directly to governments and in public in identified areas of concern including emerging infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, immunisation and infections at the animal/human interface; and the protection of populations with a disproportionate burden of infectious diseases including First Nations peoples and refugees.
