Requesting ASID Endorsement or Support

ASID is happy to endorse or support a wide range of initiatives, from clinical guidelines and research studies to events and educational resources, provided they align with ASID’s purpose and values. We welcome your submission for endorsement or support.

This page outlines what endorsement and support mean, how to apply, and what you can expect from the process.

Endorsement or Support: What’s the Difference?

ASID Endorsed
Used when ASID agrees a submission meets its purpose and standards. No in-kind or financial resources are provided, just the mark of approval and optional promotion by ASID.

ASID Supported
Indicates ASID not only endorses the submission but also commits some level of in-kind or financial support. This may include staff time, promotional activity, or participation.

Eligible Submissions

We consider requests for:

  • Clinical guidelines, resources, or websites

  • Research grant proposals

  • Studies, trials, or health projects

  • Books, reports, or publications

  • Events or campaigns (not run by ASID)

  • Any initiative relevant to infectious diseases in Australasia

We don’t consider:

  • Commercial product endorsements

  • Sponsorship requests (these follow a separate process)

Key Criteria

To be considered, submissions must:

  • Align with ASID’s purpose and strategy

  • Be of high quality and ethical standards

  • Complement other ASID activities (no direct conflicts)

  • Follow the ASID Endorsement Policy and Process

For support (including financial/in-kind), we’ll also assess:

  • Clear justification for ASID’s contribution

  • Feasibility and resourcing needs

  • Relevance and potential impact on the sector

The Process

Submit your request

Email: Submissions@asid.net.au

Include the completed Endorsement Request form and relevant supporting documentation that reviewers will require to make the assessment. Please allow at least 4 weeks for review. We cannot guarantee that the review process will be completed within 4 weeks.

  1. Initial screening
ASID’s Secretariat reviews and forwards eligible requests to the Endorsement Working Group or relevant experts.

  2. Review and recommendation
Submissions are assessed based on content type and relevance. Reviewers declare any conflicts of interest.

  3. Final decision
ASID’s CEO (or delegate) makes the final call. For requests involving support, the Board may also be consulted.

  4. Notification and outcomes
    If endorsed/supported, you’ll receive:

    • A letter of confirmation

    • Permission to use the ASID logo (if relevant)

    • Optional promotional support (events, website, socials)

Promoting Endorsed Work

ASID Endorsed or Supported submissions may be:

  • Promoted at ASID events and on social media

  • Featured in ASID newsletters or website content

  • Permitted to display the ASID logo

For supported projects, ASID’s contribution (and any conditions) will be clearly outlined.

Your Obligations

If your submission is endorsed or supported, you must:

  • Acknowledge ASID in any related publications or promotions

  • Update ASID if the submission is revised or withdrawn

  • Provide outcome reports (especially if support was provided)
