VACSIG is hosting a The value of vaccines across the lifespan symposium at the 2024 Communicable Diseases and Immunisation Conference in Brisbane on Tuesday 11 June 2024.
Session chair: Dr Archana Koirala and Dr Sophie Wen
1. Vaccination is a key preventative measure for morbidity and mortality from infectious diseases. Health campaigns and evaluation mainly focus on national immunisation program funded vaccinations but exposure to infectious diseases is one of the many health hazards of international travel. We will use scenario based training to allow attendees to work through common questions that arise in administering vaccines pre and post travel.
Speakers: Dr Anny (Yuanfei) Huang and Dr Sarah McGuinness.
2. Immunisation through life. Join us in an engaging and lively discussion by paediatricians and adult physicians on the value of vaccines across the lifespan.
Co-Leads: Prof Christopher Blyth and Prof Margie Danchin.
Panel members: Prof Nigel Crawford, Prof Michelle Giles, Prof Peter McIntyre, Prof Katie Flanagan, A/Prof Emma Best and Prof Kristine Macartney.
3. How well do you know the Australian Immunisation Handbook or ATAGI recommendations? The session ends with a trivia session on vaccine policy and recommendations.
Speakers: Dr Tamishka De Silva, Dr Alexa Dierig and Ms Deirdre Brogan.
