Congratulations Associate Professor Amanda Gwee

At the end of 2024, the Association of Australian Medical Research Institutes (AAMRI) announced the finalists of the AAMRI Rising Star Award. Proudly sponsored by CSL, the AAMRI Rising Star Award in 2024 celebrated outstanding early career medical researchers.

One of the four finalists was ASID member Associate Professor Amanda Gwee, from the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, for her research on Improving access to effective treatment for childhood infections.

ASID asked Amanda what the award meant to her: 'It is an incredible honour to have been a finalist for this award alongside such talented researchers. For me, it has validated the importance of my research program and the need to further research into improving access to antimicrobial treatment for kids.’
