Congratulations Dr Zoe Neoh
ASID member Dr Zoe Neoh has been awarded the 2024 ANZMIG Research Grant.
Dr Neoh is currently a Research Fellow/Project Manager, National Centre for Infections in Cancer (NCIC), Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Melbourne, Australia and an Honorary Fellow, The Sir Peter MacCallum Department of Oncology, University of Melbourne.
Dr Neoh’s research is Susceptibilities of clinical non-Aspergillus mould (NAM) isolates to current and new antifungal agents in Australia and New Zealand.
The importance of this work lies in its potential to provide much-needed evidence to guide best practices in prescribing antifungal agents and to inform clinical guidelines for managing invasive NAM infections, particularly among vulnerable patient populations. This is especially critical for rare moulds, where data are scarce. The findings from this study are pivotal for effective surveillance and for contributing to minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum effective concentration databanks, which will inform clinical interpretive breakpoints and epidemiological cut off values.
The ASID ANZMIG Research Grant is awarded annually to support and foster mycology research.
